Harinam Arts is a non-profit educational association founded in 1995 by David Bruce Hughes. Its primary purpose is to benefit the public by educating them in the importance and practical application of Vedic transcendental sound vibration, or mantra. Mantra is a very broad field, including sruti or Vedic source literature, sastra or scripture describing the Absolute Truth, tantra or directions for spiritual practices, raga or transcendental music, and sankirtan or the congregational chanting of the Lord's Holy Names. All these give facility for people to mitigate all their material suffering by realize the ultimate spiritual truth. Therefore Vedic mantra provides the greatest good to all the people of the world.
Although Harinam Arts does sell products such as CDs and books, all its income is reinvested in producing additional works in the line of its purpose. There are many important Vedic works that remain unavailable in the English language. Harinam Arts welcomes charitable contributions by individuals with an interest in encouraging the Vedic arts and sciences in the Western world.
